The anniversary picture is finished! Hooray!!! It was fun but I struggled a lot at the very end when it was missing just a few final touches and I couldn't figure out what! I did some sparring with a fellow-artist and finally managed to finish it. Phew! So! Now that that's done I'm returning to the comic with the ambition to finish the remaining three pages of issue 01 within this year! Yes! I can do it! I want to get it done! It's time! Crazy how time flies! 25 years have passed since the start of the W.i.t.c.h. comic! Aaaand it's already been several months since my last comic update too hehe... I've been pretty happy just doing some artworks for a while. For one I continued fiddling with Elyon's desert picture for a bit and for another I spontaniously drew the Meridian trio (Cedric, Elyon and Phobos) based off of a cool cosplay photo I saw on Instagram. Currently I'm working on an artwork to commemorate the 25th anniversary...

So! The new comic pages are online! And as you can see here, I basically changed the last one (again) and turned it into two. Yeah. I did that. Sorry. Anyway! You still get some new stuff with the new pages. The main reason for my choice to rework the previous one was that the view direction was super messy. There's an overload of speech bubbles, information and colours. The darkness has a powerful but super brief moment and I wanted to build on that more, give both the magical transformation...

The first part of Elyon's new story is available for download via my Ko-fi. Part 2 will follow shortly, while I'm currently writing on part 3. As always the story parts will be available for free, though of course I'm happy for any tips! Originally I wanted to wait until the story was finished, but first of all it just seems like a shame for this story to lie around unread for a long while, second it will help me stay focused while writing my way through the plot, if I release it in packages....

Something else for a change: I've been fiddling with this piece on and off for a while now but made decent progress over the weekend, so I felt like sharing a glimpse. It's an artwork that I had in mind if Basiliade ever got a little novel of some kind. As you can see the art piece is not finished yet. Hello! I felt I should at least make a brief blog entry here after this long lasting ordeal of the recent comic page is finally over. Just a quick update before my long vacation: While I didn't manage to finish it -- it took far more time to prep for the vacation that I had anticipated -- I did REALLY great progress with the page and am super motivated to continue it once I'm back. It's starting to look really cool. I finished the background and most of the Will's required both in clean lines and colour.
